The Land Outdoor Shirt was born from this second idea: to create a versatile, comfortable, and durable outdoor shirt that can follow you from a day on the trail to a trip, a bike ride, an evening at camp, or simply everyday life.
It’s one of the pieces that best represents Cascada’s approach to outdoor clothing: functional when it needs to be, simple enough to wear every day.
Why we designed it
We were looking for a shirt that could truly follow us through our days outside, whether riding bikes or moving through the mountains on foot. It had to be comfortable, functional, and versatile enough to adapt to different conditions and uses without ever feeling bulky or restrictive.
The Land Outdoor Shirt came from that real need: an essential piece designed to deliver comfort, freedom of movement, and versatility throughout the day.
What is an outdoor shirt?
An outdoor shirt needs to strike a different balance than a traditional casual shirt.
It should provide freedom of movement, handle changing temperatures, and be durable enough for life outside without necessarily looking or feeling overly technical.
The Land Outdoor Shirt was built around that balance. It keeps the simple look of a classic button-down, while its materials, fit, and details were chosen with long days outdoors in mind.
The fabric: why we chose a wool blend
One of the defining features of the Land Outdoor Shirt is its wool and polyester blend fabric.
Wool is particularly well suited to the outdoors thanks to its natural ability to help regulate temperature and remain comfortable as conditions change.
Adding synthetic fibers makes the fabric more practical and durable for everyday use, creating a material suited to a piece designed to be worn often and in many different situations.
The result isn’t meant to feel like a traditional technical shirt, but like a piece that feels equally at home outdoors and in everyday life.
Why 16% wool?
We tested different fabric blends and weights in the field, looking for the right balance between comfort, performance, and practicality.
The final composition uses 16% wool: enough to benefit from its natural qualities without making the shirt too heavy. Polyester adds durability, resilience, and everyday practicality.
The result is a lightweight, breathable, quick-drying fabric designed to work across different activities and conditions throughout much of the year.
Made in Italy
The Land Outdoor Shirt is made in Italy, allowing us to stay close to every stage of production.
For us, that means maintaining a direct relationship with the people who make the garment, having greater control over materials and finishing, and working with production methods designed to stand the test of time.
A simple approach: make less, make it better, use it more.
An outdoor shirt for every season
One of the Land’s strengths is its versatility throughout the year.
In the shoulder seasons, it can be worn directly over a T-shirt or a base layer. When temperatures drop, it works as a mid layer under a vest or jacket.
In spring and on cooler summer days, it works as a lightweight layer for early mornings, higher elevations, or evenings around camp.
It’s this ability to adapt to different situations that makes the Land one of the most versatile pieces in our collection.
Hiking, bikepacking, fly fishing, and everyday life
We didn’t design the Land Outdoor Shirt around a single sport. The idea was exactly the opposite.
From hiking and bikepacking to fly fishing, the Land Outdoor Shirt is designed to adapt to different days and different activities. A versatile piece for anyone who sees time outside as part of everyday life.
The relaxed fit allows freedom of movement, while the elastic cuffs make it easy to adjust the sleeves while moving or as temperatures change.

A relaxed fit
The Land Outdoor Shirt has a comfortable, relaxed fit designed for life outdoors.
It won’t restrict movement and leaves enough room to wear a lightweight layer underneath.
We generally recommend choosing your usual size if you want the original Cascada fit.
Many women also wear the Land Outdoor Shirt from our men’s collection. In that case, we generally recommend sizing down one or two sizes, depending on the fit you prefer.
